Fast For Freedom Day 10 – Screen Free #IWFF

This season of lent, follow along with the Fast For Freedom. Participate by sharing, praying, fasting, or giving to raise awareness about global slavery. Download the 40 day devotional for free here. Share your own thoughts and prayers in the comments, and be challenged to take action in the movement for Freedom.

So you may have noticed that I didn’t post yesterday for Fast For Freedom Day 10.

I have been following along with something call “40Acts”, their tag line is to do lent generously, and it works by daily sending an email with an action step for lent.

Yesterday’s action step was to go ‘screen-free’ and spend the day interacting face-to-face with people instead.

I figured it sounded like a lovely idea, so I logged off my computer and put it aside for over 24 hours!

I would encourage you to check out 40Acts and get on-board with some practical and creative action steps to live out this season of lent.

Speaking of action: It’s been one week since Freedom Sunday  and churches are still signing up to say they are participating. That is the beautiful thing about Freedom Sunday, it can be done from anywhere at anytime. It is about a church community committing to addressing modern slavery, and being willing to take a stand that says that no one should be for sale.

With that in mind, check out this Freedom Sunday sermon from NFS head of faith communities – Kevin Austin. Worship is the catalyst for action:
